Blossom Shower Agro Exports Pvt. Ltd. is a well known name as a manufacturer and exporter of Gherkins and is a decade old enterprise that has been involved in the processing of Gherkin (Pickled Cucumber).
Our Working Strategy
Founded by a young duo who themselves worked for India's largest tea company, Blossom Shower has over the years supplied high graded products to many delighted client overseas. With a consistent eye on quality, the company is proud to have processed gherkins from 5/10 to 300+ counts per kilogram.
We believe that high quality is the only factor that help in winning the trust of the esteemed clients. Our working team is dedicated to supply the best quality products to our clients that are made in proper hygienic condition and are high in taste.
Consistent quality and on time deliveries has provided us support of our clients and long term business relationship with them. The company has an Agri-extension team headed by a General Manager. The team conducts regular field trips to farms and checks cultivation practices, irrigation and harvesting. Mundane problems if any, are attended to immediately.
The Fine Art Of Quality Gherkins
A six phase project is optimized in the production of gherkins:
1. Selecting a farm: Once an area suitable to gherkin cultivation is established, the farm lands are checked for its soil conditions, viz texture, pH level, toxicity, mineral and organic content and also the availability of water along with the proximity to Blossom Shower Agro's plant.
2. Supplying excellent seed stock: The procurement and inspection of seeds by determining the parentage and examination for disease/flaws are given great attention as these are an important aspect. Approved seed varieties such as Peto, Asgrow and Ejax are used.
3. Regular disease and pest control: Insecticides and fungicides conforming to USFDA and EEC standards are supplied to farms. The health of plants is monitored, almost on a daily basis.
4. Field visits: Visits to farms ensure a constant updation of crop and cultivation skills.
5. Lifting the produce: To ensure real time quality and freshness, the produce is collected each day and delivered at Blossom Shower Agro's plant within four hours.
6. Ensuring quality: We ensure a strict end-to-end quality policy by on-time delivery of customer specified and graded gherkins of the correct quality and constantly updating skills of company staff and employees coupled with a systems oriented work culture.
We have a fully equipped 30,000 sq. feet processing plant in Tamil Nadu and another at Yelahanka, Bangalore. Large and spacious interiors ensure a hygienic atmosphere so crucial to quality gherkins. A uniform covered lighting system ensures the proper separation of defective fruits. Streamlined production processes are carried out meticulously at every stage from field until final dispatch.
Export Market
Our average exports is over 3,000 metric tons of processed gherkins each year, mainly to North and South America, Europe and South Korea. Certification
The plant is certified and licensed to manufacture under F.P.O., which is Govt. of India certification for our industry.
The agri team suggests and supplies pesticides to farmers as required. The list of permitted chemicals/pesticides is constantly updated based on USFDA and EEC regulations. Infrastructure
We boast of a processing plant which is designed to fully ensure hygiene and provide an efficient work atmosphere.
The plant enjoys a smooth operation throughout the process thanks to a spacious, congestion free work area.

Grades Provided
The gherkins are graded on the basis of count/kilo and are thoroughly washed. The washed gherkins are passed through a minute inspection to sort out crooked and bent fruits, remove flower, remove stalks, separate damaged fruits and to separate worm infected fruits. After these initial steps, the gherkins are subjected to brining or vinegar/ acetic acid process as per requirements.
The 3 aspects of grades are:
1. Count per kilo
Typical grades are 5/10, 10/20, 20/30, 30/40, 40/60, 60/80, 80/120, 120/160, 160/300 and 300+.

The products can also be processed to customized specification and standards. The products are packed in new food grade HDPE drums. The net drained weight for salted vinegar/ acid products is 160 kilos per drum and for brine products- 180 kilos per drum.
